Orienteering
What's happening this year?
All First Years had a great trip out to Jenkinstown Wood, for a training session, in association with Waterford Orienteering. In pairs, they navigated their way around various routes, finding the controls, and getting back to the finish. It is a great opportunity for the girls to try the ‘sport’ activity, whether they run or walk, and learn a new skill.
We recently had the school and surrounding estate mapped by eminent mapper, Pat Healy, funded by Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership, and will be using the maps to run various orienteering activities and event on site in the new year.
We will be sending a selection of interested students from all year groups to the South-East and National Schools Championships in the Spring.
